Swollen Face Latex Prosthetic

£24.99

this is for a latex prosthetic lower half face, to give the effect of an overweight face. That suits a different variety costume characters.

Description

Swollen Face Latex Prosthetic

This sale includes a Swollen Face Latex Prosthetic designed to create an overweight or swollen look, perfect for transforming into characters like Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Mrs. Doubtfire, or similar whimsical figures in cosplay or fancy dress.

Material:

Available in two options:

  • Rubber Latex: This version features a basic hollow design that can be packed with cotton wool if necessary.
  • Foam Latex: This option is soft and spongy, allowing for more movement with facial expressions. However, it is not often reusable.

Differences between the materials are described in the FAQ. I also discuss them in this video.

Please note that foam latex may have some patching due to previous faults and may show some discoloration. We are currently working to resolve these green staining issues in certain areas, but it remains paintable, so you can achieve your desired look.

Breathing Holes: The prosthetic includes breathing holes in the nostril area, which can be adjusted by creating additional holes with scissors if needed.

Painting & Adhesive Options

  • Painting: Since these prosthetics are sold unpainted, you can paint them using grease paints, acrylics, Pax paints, or water-based colors.

  • Adhesive: Use adhesives like Spirit Gum, Aqua FX (budget-friendly), or Pros-Aide (for long-wear). Pros-Aide and its cream form also help blend edges and can be mixed with acrylic to create Pax paint.

How to Apply Latex

  1. Position the prosthetic and trim it to fit if necessary.

  2. Apply adhesive on both the prosthetic and your skin.

  3. Add cotton wool to bulk up any hollow areas if needed.

  4. Press the prosthetic into place once the adhesive is tacky.

  5. Use more adhesive or latex around the edges to blend.

  6. Powder the prosthetic to remove shine.

  7. Paint to match your skin tone or create fantasy designs as desired.

Post-Purchase Care (Latex)

  • Remove the mask with an oil-based remover and clean it with a makeup cleanser.

  • For tougher stains, use white spirit or IPA.

  • Always test adhesives and paints on a small area to check for allergies.
